When I was younger at Christmas time my family had an Elf on the Shelf. My parents had told me that if you touch the elf it looses its magic and dies. From then on I was terrified if I accidentally touched it. Until I eventually realized it was not magic and that my mom moved the doll around our house when I was asleep.
