My friend told me that we are going to meet at 12, but has not mentioned is it PM or AM. I thought it is PM, and was confused when he was not there at that time. Later I spoke with him and realized that he meant AM.

Wow, that must me a really good friend of yours that he scheduled to meet at 12am! The am and pm thing really can cause some confusion.
