In this comic, I was calling in sick to work. I had to miss a long shift on a weekend, and I was one of the most experienced staff. I knew that me calling in sick was going to make the day bad for everyone- my team down a person for 8 hours of operation, the customers frustrated with the service, plus the time a supervisor would have to spend not helping to call in a replacement…. so I called in a replacement FIRST, before calling in to work , so that by the time I delivered the news that I wasn’t coming, my replacement was already there, ready to work.
